well I am fine with that.. the naming could be then: "The inofficial OpenJUMP programmers guide", or "My OpenJUMP programmers guide" ;) i.e. something that gives it an informal touch. stefan Sunburned Surveyor wrote: > I've decided to change the tone of the plug-in programmer's guide I am > wri

Hei Landon, I don't realy think that the name example is helpful for the start. Of course there may be applications for that.. but who does need to parse all layer names? Why can the operator not just provide a layer? Shouldn't you focus on working with the GUI - how to use the dialogs, how to

[JPP-Devel] Change in tone for OpenJUMP Plug-In Programmer's Guide

2008-06-26 Thread Sunburned Surveyor
I've decided to change the tone of the plug-in programmer's guide I am writing. I'm going to use a less formal tone and will speak in the first person. One reason I am making this change is I would like to offer some advice on plug-in development that may not be the "official position" of our user

I've completed my second example for the OpenJUMP programmer's guide. You can download the jar file that contains it here: http://www.redefinedhorizons.com/shared_files/ Just drop the JAR in your /lib/ext folder. When you do this you should get a top-level menu called "SurveyOS". It will contain

That makes sense Larry. I'll get the text from the JTextField objects in the event handler for the OK button. I've been beating my head on the wall over this one. Sometimes the answer is right in front of you. Thanks, SS On Thu, Jun 26, 2008 at 3:02 PM, Larry Becker <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: >

It would seem that this would not be a problem in any modal dialog. Even if the dialog was non-modal, you would have a button to perform the actual replace. When you click the button, the focus changes and the values should be available to get at that point. This is not happening? Larry On Thu

I'm doing some work on one of my examples for the Plug-In Programmer Guide. In this example a plug-in prompts the user for both a search string and a replacement string. It then replaces all of the search strings it finds in the name of each layer with the replacement String. It appears that the

[JPP-Devel] Follow Up On User Survey - Some Fun...

We've got 8 responses to our survey so far, and I suspect a few of these are from our programmers. I think we have a lot more users. I thought I would try something just for fun. I've added a box to the survey where you can enter your name. I'll randomly select one name from all the survey respond
