Apart from that one issue remains... there is still to do some
translation work for several languages before an official release.
(e.g. i don't have not yet translated all german stuff)

I have read your concerns and talked to other people on the license
issue. They approved that you are right.
Thus with respect to the GPL the OpenJUMP distribution will not contain
the ECW mapper. The necessary files can only be provided as a separate
download.

The problem with the current exe appears to be something to do with the
classpath. Specifically I cannot get the OpenJUMP.exe runner to find
the JAI libraries even though they are installed. When I run OpenJUMP
from a bat file then they are found.
