Glen that gave me an error, but perhaps I did it wrong. It's a little
confusing when learning jQuery when to use .is, .filter, .find, etc.

I went with:
$('ul.list a:contains(' + toMatch + ')')
Or the underutilized second argument of jQuery, the context:
$(":contains('whatever')", this)
