[jQuery] Unload issue with Firefox

I've got a jQuery 1.2.6 script that attaches a click handler to every hyperlink on a page. We have a small number of pages where the number of link are massive (5000+, and yes I know this is ridiculous). On these pages, when I try to navigate AWAY from them, Firefox will be unresponsive for a coup
