Make sure you read the documentation for the token, just passing 270 will
not give you what you are looking for, you need to have the correct
argument name. I don't remember what it is off the top of my head, but the
documentation (look for Content Reference) will have the information you
need

It's not appending the content at all.
It simply shows
${BUILD_LOG, 270}
on the email.

What do you mean by status code? Is is available via the Jenkins API at all?
