Hi Hyun,
Lucene is a library and so does not log searches. You'd have to build it.
Plus in case you're looking at implementing things at that high a level, you
may instead use SOLR, though 'm not sure what's the stage of implementation
of your project. Incase you're yet to begin, you may look at S
Hi Ching,
Does the app exit or hang and stay there? as in does the JVM stay alive and
idle?
Also, can you make sure that its not the pdfbox? as in, try commenting the
indexwriter part and just read the pdfs, does that work fine.
Can you also post info on your environment?
Index Size? Lucene Version
Hi, how would you make Lucene leave a search log of
who searched what, when, etc (i.e. cookie, query, timestamp, etc)?
Is there a built-in Lucene function that allows me to do this,
Or is Lucene doing it already by default and I just can't find it?
Hi All,
Can anyone help with this issue? I have about 2000 pdf files that I use
PDFBox to extract its text, then index them using for loop. The indexing
stopped after the fdt file reaches at 7,061 KB in size. There is no error,
the indexing simply stopped. Thanks in advance for any help.
Ching
I'm not at all sure this is true. We all start by thinking "of course if the
entire
directory were in RAM it would be faster". But lots of work has gone into
making efficient use of RAM for things like caches etc. So it may not
make any difference.
But that doesn't mean you can't try. It's trivial
Try IndexWrite.addIndexes. I confess that I haven't used that since
2.4, but I suspect it's what you want.

P.S. hijacking. No problem. It's more a matter of helping find topics
rather than who started the conversation.

Thanks Anshum.
Any one who used parallelReader, can yo provide me with a direction for this
particular issue? May be a good example using parallelReader to solve this
kind of problem would do.
