I am excited to announce the first public release of GNU Zile in Lua!
Based on work going back to 2007, I've been working for the past two
years on translating Zile from C into Lua. I'm using the released
version daily, but as indicated by the alpha tag, I don't recommend

N.B. This is a release of the C version of Zile; the two previous 2.4
alphas were from the Lua branch, which is currently still in
development. Future Lua releases will be numbered differently!

I am happy to announce a new release of Recode, after almost ten years.
Although Recode is no longer a GNU project, I think it deserves an
announcement here.
The release is noteworthy for other reasons: it represents a major
overhaul to the codebase, with many bug fixes, a modernized build
system
This release has no code changes since 2.12, but just a minor documentation
fix and updated translations.

I am delighted to announce the first in a new stable release series of
Zile.
This version should be just like the last for users, but has been
completely
rewritten in Vala, for easier maintenance. I hope this will allow me to
keep
maintaining Zile for the foreseeable future with less work.

I'm happy to announce a new release of GNU Zile, the minimal Emacs clone.
This release fixes a serious bug introduced in the 2.6 series, where
visiting a file containing no newlines would cause an immediate
crash. Apologies for this, and thanks to Martin Thierer for reporting it.
