simple
set up and maintenance of an Exim/Cyrus-imap mail server? I was leaning
towards Debian simply because I use it on other hosts.
I seem to be having trouble finding a good howto to set this up using
repositories rather than compiling.
Any suggestions?

ect is so as to not be an open relay..?)
What do I need to do to authenticate with the cyrus_sasl db? Why would
the authenticator driver "cyrus_sasl" not be available? Do I need to
enable that somewhere?
I've read so many conflicting pages I've completely confused mys
relay not permitted so it seems it's not authenticating on send.
If it can authenticate for IMAP using *digest_md5_sasl_server* why would
it fail when sending?

so why would clients not be able to use TLS? Auto-config in both

Looking at this:
http://www.exim.org/exim-html-current/doc/html/spec_html/ch-smtp_authentication.html
maybe I should be specifying a client_ parameter for SMTP auth?
Too many changes - tired and need sleep. Hopefully I'll have something
clearer in the morning.

t I'm not seeing anything helpful. Indeed I need to trace the
process on send and find out where is is baulking, any thoughts on how
to find that?
Since this seems to now be an Exim thing, perhaps at this point I should
be asking this on the exim list?
