Ok: This here are some pointers:
Cyrus needs a authentication source, this could be the ldap server.
Since you got cyrus set up, and ldap set up, what you need is pointers for
the "glue between" and for setting up ldap users.
For the first, check out the install related part on the cyrus faq

that patch would be great. unless it might be easier to make a new
mailbox and copy the contents of the old mailbox to the new one and
delete the old one. ...if its possible. i didn't see a copy command
when i was in cyradm though.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering how people are administrating the
IMAP server. I noticed in the README for cyradm that it is not going to be
supported anymore. Is there another tool people are using to administer
mail boxes?
Thanks

Joe,
I have attached my user-rename patch, which I quickly ported to 2.0.16.
Apply this patch in the imap/ directory of any recent distro (2.0.15 or
later, including hiersep-r2).
I don't have time to test it, but not much has changed since I
originally wrote it, so it _should_ work fine. You d
Hi,
Assuming that
* you are running linux (where your Cyrus server is installed),
* your ldap server is setup and you have user accounts in it,
* you can make ldap lookups from the machine where cyrus is setup (your
ldap.conf is properly setup)
* your cyrus server is setup and functioning and
Does anyone know of any way to migrate from the Cyrus to Exchange mail

Hello all,
Has anyone on this list ever migrated from OpenWave (nee software.com)
post.office to cyrus? From doing a simple 'strings' on the account
files from the post.office config directory, I have a fairly good idea
of how to migrate folks, but I am always interested to hear if someone

Hi everyne,
I am using the perl version of cyradm. Another problem I have found is that
I can't delete a mailbox even after I set the rights of the admin to be able
to delete the mailbox. I can create mailboxes no problem. i.e:
regprod8> sam user.dummy cyrus d
regprod8> dm user.dummy

Try setting the "c" flag as well and making sure you are logged in as the
cyrus user ie cyradm -u cyrus

I've posted an alpha version of Websieve on
http://sourceforge.net/projects/cyrus-utils that allows administrators to do
all functions of cyradm (except 'renaming" mailboxes) via the web interface.
All that is required is for an administrator to log in to Websieve using the
userid and password of
Worked like a charm! Thanks all. Is there somewhere with updated docs?
Thanks

Hi All,
I have a similar problems that this fix did not solve.
In advertently, I created two users without the user.username. Now they
show up for everybody doing imap to the server.
I have tried removing them, but it gives me an I/O error:

I believe that's called downgrading!
Assuming Exchange supports IMAP, you could simply use a client to copy
server to server. And if it doesn't, you're probably up a creek since
Microsoft doesn't tend to support any standards except standards they
define (ie., the whole world should do it the
Depending on the number of users you are dealing with, a 'client-side'
migration might be your best bet.
Take this approach:
1. Setup your Exchange server, make sure that everything is fully tested.
2. Make changes to DNS for your domain MX records to point to the Exchange
server.
