I have two questions.
The first is in regards to vacation. I'm getting the
error
deliver[655]: sieve parse error for cduncan: line 1:
unsupported feature
whenever I send e-mail from an outside source with the
vacation script enabled. My script is pretty generic

Hi John
I changed this, upgraded to Cyrus 2.0.12, made some testing - and it seems to
work now.
I`m using:
lmtp cmd="lmtpd" listen="/var/imap/socket/lmtp" prefork=0
instead of:
lmtpunix cmd="lmtpd" listen="/var/imap/socket/lmtp" prefork=0
I can reproduce the error with the old s
Dear All,
We are accumulating a large number of 'widowed' directories in our mail
store. These are directories which are left after a folder delete
operation. They are completely empty and therefore do not cause any
immediate problem.
Under what circumstances are these directories left?

Hello Carlos
I read somewhere on the list about library issues on this kind system (Linux).
So , before building sasl :
export CPPFLAGS=/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.3.2/include
export CPPFLAGS=-I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.3.2/include
export LDFLAGS=-L/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.3.2/lib
./configure

I have a user who removed some messages and
wishes them restored from the backup.
My question is - what is the best way to do this
with cyrus-imap-1.6 without trashing what is currently
there? Restore to a different user or sub-folder?
Any suggestions and procedures are welcome.

Is there any way (unofficial patch even) to make shared folders appear
within the users mailbox tree?
A number of common IMAP clients do not support shared folders, but if
these clients could be tricked into seeing such folders anyway...

Dear All,
We plan to switch over from UW-IMAP(imap-2000a) to Cyrus-IMAP(Cyrus
1.6.24). After having installed the same, we observe the following:
1. "imtest"(Cyrus-IMAP context) does not respond, whereas "mtest"(UW-IMAP
context) responds.
2. Mails can not be delivered to "user.userid", but

More as a precaution so we don't end up aquiring any such IMAP clients
unaware of that rather serious limitation, which common IMAP clients
can't work with shared folders? I have to say, your request surprizes
me, because even Pine has a concept of additional inboxes which is how

Having repeated the "_" being an invalid character from
another sys admin that I trust, I decided to look it
up for myself before responding.
As it turns out, rfc822 ultimately identifies a
"local-part" as a CHAR with some exceptions:
