I'm attempting to upgrade an older Cyrus IMAP server (using virtual domains)
from 2.1 to 2.2. The new server is running Debian Etch with the
cyrus-imapd-2.2 packages (currently version 2.2.13-10). While most of the
upgrade has gone relatively smoothly, I'm having problems with
authentication.

Yep. It's in the manpage and i plain just missed it. That works for me because all out names are lower-case. But I though that both the recipient and hostname werte supposed to be case insensitive (i.e., [EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED] are the same address). Am I wrong about that?

Hi,
i've been having some problems dealing with cyrus mailbox case sensitive.
I cant get around it. I tried to use "lmtp_downcase_rcpt: 1" on imapd.conf
but is seems to make no difference. I use postfix along with cyrus in a
FreeBSD 5.1 platform. Postfix is case insensitive and, a

Hello Samuel,
I'm just new to this list, but I think the parameter
lmtp_downcase_rcpt: yes
in /etc/imapd.conf
should be the way to lowercasing the users during mail delivery

Hi
All,
Ok, I am new to this
so forgive me if this has been asked a million times!
I am using SuSE 8.2,
Exim 4 and Cyrus. Everything works great except if someone types the user
portion of the address in the wrong case. Is there any way of turning this
functionality off?

It will appear case insensitive to the user. Cyrus will lowercases all
usernames before it proceeds. You need to make sure that all mailboxes
are lowercase
So if I upgarde to cyrus 2.2 the username will not be case sensitive any
more?
I am storing or apssword and username in database MySql.
Still it will work?

Hi,
I'm delivering e-mail to Cyrus IMAP over lmtp over TCP/IP.
Main SMTP server is postfix with amavisd and sophie for virus scanning and

Everything works fine, but I noticed that Cyrus IMAP rejects e-mail and
being case sensitive in addresses.

In fact, even when the local part of addresses is case sensitive, I think
it would be better to do a case insensitive match for purposes of deciding
eligibility for a vacation message. After all, if the message is delivered
Hello,
i am still fighting with vacation. As far as i understand the source
code, and what i read in the archives, the envelope address and the
strings in the :addresses field are compared to To, Cc and Bcc fields.
If they match, a vacation message may be sent.
