I ran into this, and I believe it was mozilla's fault when I saw it. Mozilla did not recognize the s privlidge as allowing it to mark messages as seen. It wanted w privlidges before it would mark messages as seen. The way I found this, was I made a directory /var/imap/log// and then looked a
