Message expiration policy question

2007-05-24 Thread Jason Bailey, Sun Advocate Webmaster
Hello all, I have a question with message expiration policies. With cyradm I have set several message expiration policies on folders, so that old messages are automatically pruned from the folder. It works pretty well thus far. But I have a question. Does cyrus look at the received date in t

Message expiration policy questions

2007-03-16 Thread Jason Bailey, Sun Advocate Webmaster
I've set up some message retention policies (message expiration) on several folders (primarily junk folders), but it got me thinking about the specifics. Do old messages (that are "expired") get marked for deletion (and require an expunge), or are they forcibly deleted? I want the messages de

Message retention policies

2007-03-15 Thread Jason Bailey, Sun Advocate Webmaster
Is it possible to set up a message retention policy that deletes email that is, say, over a year old from the mailboxes on the server? I know many IMAP servers do support message retention policies, but I have had difficult time finding thorough, concrete information on them regarding Cyrus. D

Hello all, I am familiar with what Sieve does, but have never used it. We now have a need, and I'm struggling to find info on sieve, particularly relating to Cyrus. I want a sieve script that moves all mail marked as junk by spam assassin (x-spam-flag) into the "Junk" folder (for only one of

Cyrus upgrade, need advice

Hi all, I am preparing to upgrade our production server's operating system, which will also entail replacing Cyrus and SASL with newer, updated versions. I don't have the luxury of installing the upgrades on a new machine and then swapping it with the old one. Rather, I have to reinstall the opera

Interesting webmail problem with Cyrus

I have a very odd problem and I'm not sure what is causing it. We have a typical cyrus/postfix mail setup. I have several webmail clients installed, so that each person can use the one they prefer. - Roundcube (beta, of course) - Horde - SquirrelMail In each of these, all addresses but one wo

Email case problem

I have a slight problem, and was curious what can be done to fix it. I have a Cyrus/Postfix setup. It works great; however, we often receive emails that don't match the case of the accounts on cyrus (all of them are strictly lower case). In that event, postfix receives them OK, but cyrus rejec

I haven't exactly been following this topic, so forgive me if this has already been mentioned, or if I'm missing the issue, but I have 'virtdomains: userid' (versus virtdomains: yes) in my imapd.conf, and it allows multiple domains on one IP. I have 4 or 5 domains (virtual setup) on our server,

Question about cyrus quotas - how it behaves

2005-05-04 Thread Sun Advocate Webmaster
Just a question for all of you about quotas on cyrus imap. As far as I see, there is no "grace" quota or warning system. Users not watching the size of their mailboxes won't know they're near full until they're actually full. Is this the case? Lets say a user has a 20 MB quota on their mailbox.
