I'm not sure if this is a cyrus error or a postfix error but, I can't
find any information about how to resolve it.
I'm seeing the following in /var/log/maillog:
Jul 1 21:52:15 mail-server cyrus-imapd/master[11907]: process
type:SERVICE name:lmtpunix path:/usr/lib/cyrus-imapd/lmtpd a
I changed to the (new defalt) UNIX hierarchy separator character while
upgrading cyrus versions last year and didn't experience any problems.
I don't think your authentication scheme is relevant, but as someone
else suggested the imap clients might care. In my case, everyone uses
Thunderbird,

reconstruct -r mailbox only rebuilds the Inbox - how does cyrus deal
with rebuilding subfolders?

shows that there are many options for reconstruct however on version 2.4
there is only one option -r

The command is called LOGOUT.
TAG LOGOUT
will work in unauthenticated state.
