i m using cyrus2.3.6 in an RHEL box and this evening i saw the folowing
message in the cyrus log files

On a production murder, on Debian Sarge and Cyrus IMAP 2.2.8, I met the
following error :
Dec 4 14:45:21 fe01 imaps[23782]: couldn't authenticate to backend server:
bad protocol / cancel
It fell on all frontends at the same time, and occurred probably for most
new connected clients.
