You can do it; nothing _disasterous_ will happen, but the server will
get confused and report errors. You can use reconstruct to fix a
mailbox that has been mangled in this way.
We do all management possible via IMAP (such as remotepurge in the
netnews directory or using the Perl scripts). My p
Probably a faq, but is it safe to just arbitrarily delete a file from a
users mailbox from the shell? I.E. Not via pop3 or imap? Just rm -f the file?
I'm inclined to think this is neither safe, nor a very good idea... But I
thought I'd ask anyway.

I am running cyrus-imapd-1.6.24 along with postfix under Red Hat Linux

occasionally a delivery dies with a log entry like the following:

Well guys I just wanted to say thanks to all those
who helped me out in getting cyrus up and running.
BTW, the only way I ever got to the point I'm

First the preliminaries, I've built and installed cyrus imap without
mentioning sieve

The sieve

I also had this problem, and I don't know *the* solution, but I know *a*

I've been using it to keep my systems clean and it hasn't cause me
a problem. I'm currently evaluating IMAP 2.0.11 so that I can upgrade
for 1.6.24. Any ideas what would be the best way to hook in
the virus scanner. Would it be best to call from Exim before
it calls deliver, or should I spawn i

Hello,
Has anyone used Aaron Newsome's pwcheck_mysql patch with sasl-1.5.42 and
imapd.2.0.11?
I have the patch working fine on cyrus-1.5.19 before sasl dependencies
were introduced, but I wish to to upgrade to 2.X. Im aware that I CAN
use pam for checking against mysql but I would prefer not not

CMU uses Solaris 7? I think I read that somewhere. I'd be interested to
know if they had to patch thier own code or if they just did:
./configure (options)
make all
make install
Using Gnu make and GCC. Did configure find everyting CMU built cyrus
imapd/sasl was designed to use or did they have
