What exactly is the error?
You might need to copy ./c-client/c-client.a to /usr/lib or /usr/local/lib

and keep getting problems in obtaining workable prerequistes. I obtained
problem when trying to compile imap-2006e or imap2004g at the stage of
mtest and c-cle
