FYI, for the list's benefit solved (sort of) I installed ImageMagick and did a few things and rebooted the server and the problem has gone away. My assumption is that in the absence of imageMagick, IMP does some JPG processing in PHP that is inefficient, and doesn't scale to images that are

memory_limit was at 80M to start with I played with it, increased it to 128M, 256M, 512M, 1024M with no luck. I checked phpinfo() to make sure the change was taking effect each time. I also tried disabling inline previews but that doesn't seem to matter either. How would I turn off thumbnail

I recently moved my Horde/IMP installation to a new webserver with a newer Apache/PHP (now httpd-2.2.11/php-5.2.8). Since then I've noticed that JPG attachments cause problems unless they are quite small. One that is < 100k is fine, but a 300k JPG causes the web page to time out when trying to
