we are writing a transparent ftp proxy. our aim is to write a proxy code that sits
on gateway and provides proxy services(logging,auth,filtering etc).
when ever a user from external n/w does ftp on gateway,our proxy program forwards that
request to some internal ftp server after validating

wiht a dual boot of Windows NT.
I am on a LAN run on NT servers. I am able to mount
other shares using Samba.

The best place for you to look for what's wrong is inside the log file for
the lpd.
Which should be /var/spool/lpd/'your-printer-QueueName'
If there is something wrong going on it will be there as status inside
'status.your-printer-QueueName' file.
