sort )
copy that file as /etc/lilo.conf and then lilo -v

fsck can check bad sectors for you
if you want to sync the data just type "sync"
else if you are the tod-phod kind wanting to play with journaling systems
try XFS it's better than ext3.

and mark bad sectors on the hard disk. It is possible
with "format" command in Solaris but is there any such
thing for Linux?
