my backup script is working when this run manually and in cron jobs. But
the script is not taking mysql dump when this is added in /etc/cron.hourly

By mistake I changed my root directory permissions to 777.

1. Boot from any live dvd and mount the 'linux partition' where you
have the /root directory
2. chmod 700 to /root dir
