Little confused about the usage of multiple services in a host file. Below
is a sample from one host file where intent is the automate duplication for
308 servers all with different host_names. To invoke each service does the
host.conf file have to have each service separate?

Files and file name don't matter. Files are read and contain object
definitions. It doesn't matter how the file is called and what's in there.
You don't show the host object "xxx" anywhere. That's where it starts.
You can create either individual service objects for an individual host
like you
