Haven't had to remind folks of this in a awhile. This list is for the
discussion of IBM Mainframes.
Not political discussions/opinions and other worthless sh*t that I and others
really don't care
about. If it continues, I will start removing people from the list.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Can we stop this thread please?!

First, I would like to apologize to the list for not being a better list owner.
Life has been busy.
I've had numerous complaints about some postings on the list.
So, here's the deal. All posts WILL be directly related to IBM Mainframe topics.

The University of Alabama had a Univac 1100 Series mainframe when I started
school there in 1977.

used assembly language.
Around 1985, UA changed over to an IBM 3081 I believe. 32 bit, 2's compliment.

I'm still alive. As long as no one complains, a brief post with a job

There have been several posts on this list that are straying away
from mainframe topics, with a few insults being thrown around.
Those involved need to cut it out or I will remove you from the list.
Do NOT reply to this email. There's no discussion warranted.

Let's not start inundating John Watters with emails about IBM-MAIN. I know
John and worked with him my entire career at UA. He was my manager most of
that time. I think the Helpdesk misrouted the problem to him. He has
nothing to do with Listserv. I will contact him.

Yes, Ed, I'm still alive. Several things could have happened:
1) I missed your email amongst the 100's of IBM-MAIN email delivery
rejection notices I receive daily.
2) I read your email and was going to respond later, but forgot.
3) I ignored you.

Well, I thought it was down, but after trying for an hour, I received
a response from the server. Then it quit responding a minute later.
I've sent a helpdesk request in, however, they probably won't get it
until Monday. Wasn't like that when I was there
