Sue,thank you for correcting the inexcusable error so quickly.
It was, however, unnecessary to post what may look as reasonable justification
to you. To me "improve customer experience" is always announcing a step back in
service, usability, availability. It's the current management buzzword to
Hello All,
In a 2 port per CHPID card (4 ports in a card), to use OSA/SF, is 1 OSAD unit
required per port (for a total of 4), or is 1 OSAD unit enough per CHPID/PCH
(for a total of 2).
Thanks in advance 😊

It's almost as if Google hasn't crawled the 2.2 and 2.3 Knowledge Center
content, because the material is certainly there but it doesn't appear in the
results - at least not in the first pages presented before, for example, I
start getting license plate results when I'm looking for a message id.

There is a technology, which is very old, named URL rewrite.
It basically allows to receive a http request for:

Thanks Radoslaw, that's all I needed to know (to fill this gap in my
understanding of OSD setup).

OSA/SF doesn't work with the newer OSA and mainframe hardware. Can't remember
if it stopped with OSA-E4 or OSA-E5.
These functions moved from OSA/SF to the hardware console instead.

Is IBM trying to reduce the usefulness of the KC?
I just searched for the z14 HMC doc with Google and the top link resulted in
this message. Seems the content in the KC is being reduced. Is IBM trying to
reduce their DASD footprint. Is AWS charging too much for it :)

To: IBM-
IMHO, IBM should be very cautious about using noindex and robots.txt; there are
legitimate reasons to search for old manuals.

You can check out the MSGID parameter, but it appears to only work in response
to a command, vs trap on a random message. Probably better off using your
automation package to do that, and have it d
Sorry, I should have read closer. You would need automation to trap on message
ID, parse the text, and take whatever actions you wanted.
