There seems to be some confusion in this thread about RELFILEs and SMPTLIB data
sets.
RELFILEs are used only during RECEIVE processing and are not used after that.
SMPTLIB data sets are created during RECEIVE processing and are used for both
APPLY and ACCEPT.
Neither are used by the running pr

Allan,
Are you sure the RELFILES aren't needed for the ACCEPT? In my old brain, I'm
thinking that ACCEPT copies modules etc from the RELFILES.

So at this point if I want to accept the base, I would need to have recalled
the RELFILES (or *.F*)? Some of them I can not get recalled and am getting
"locate errors".
thanks

Perhaps that will solve the OP's problem.
Run the accept w/NOPURGE and then manually delete the RELFILES.

ACCEPT will absolutely clean up the relfiles. I do not recall if there is an
SMPE configuration option to override this.
If DB2 V12 is installed in the same SMPE environment as DB2 V11, I expect
problems.
The SMPE MCS for DB2V12 FMIDs
DB2V11 FMIDS.

Thinking forward to my v12 Db2 migration, at what point is it advisable to
accept the base? As soon as I have my first system successfully migrated? Or
right before the first maintenance Apply?
thanks

Thank you for the response! Sorry for being vague. I believe you have the
answer in that I never accepted the Base for my v11 Db2. I have applied
maintenance a few times now since migrating to v11. At this point would I be
able to accept the v11 base only? If si how do I specify that?
thanks
