I'm afraid the best bet is to work with IBM VTL engineers to manually get rid

Timed automation to display status of libraries (once per hour?).
Message automation to react to offline status.

The 3592 tape drive went offline after a firmware update and had to restart
the VTL.
Any clue to set an email alert when drives goes offline ?

There's various redbooks/manuals which explain the replication in the TS7700

When two, or more, TS7700's are connected it is called a grid configuration.
The different members of a grid are connected using an IP network.
There is a policy that defines when a tape is copied.
You can copy a tape when it is closed, or at the end of every bloc
TS7700 can replicated data using so called grid, that means two TS7700 boxes
replicate data using gigabit ethernet (TCPIP) connection.

This document goes on to mention a sequence of steps, those to occur after
creating the tape-volume, of course with the various correct/expected

command.

Or are you talking about software like RMM?
In the first case, a hardware PMR is probably the right group. However, have

Why would you like to do that? The TS7700 is structurally different from
the B20 in that it does much more present the grid as one entity and the
reasons for your B20 control will probably not be valid anymore for the
TS7740. You will probably can, but don't need to anymore.
