I'd heard that the price of running z/OS on a PC was going to come down for
personal users but looking at the IBM website it's still very expensive at
USD5,980.00 + tax per year.

Basically, the $1000 personal mainframe was derailed by Covid and not
restarted, not to mention they weren't prepared for the volume of requests
they got before covid.
