well im using a .bat file for server restarting, so it doesn't check the
status of the game server (like if it is frozen) only checks the proccess,
it becomes toatally unresponsive. tools like Server Checker auto restart the
server when this happens (as to everyone it seems offline).

Just a question, has anyone's server been locking up, untill you hit a key
in the console (not via rcon)
and then the console spammed with name (No Steam Logon) for every player on
the server?
and then end up with an empty server?
It has happened to me several times with the last update, not bef
There is a SM plugin that gets this info for L4D, I'm sure it's not much
different for L4D2. No idea if that plugin still works.

How did you manage to fix the flooding? Would you be willing to share the
plugin that you/your community wrote?

I've been trying to do this for more than 2 years and have brought it up on
this list multiple times, if you know how, by all means write a SourcePawn
script.

Well, you could still set it to block an IP for _x_ minutes if it tries to
join more than _y_ connection attempts in _z_ seconds, yeah?

Hi all,
Just wondering where the data for worldwide rank/players served comes from.
I am aware this data is not 100% reliable, but would still like to display
it on the website for my community (I can extract the data from practically
any source, so that is not too much of a problem)
Cheers,

Jeff: If these are players on our ban list, this would indeed work. However
from reviewing my server logs they don't even connect long enough for the
server to resolve their steamid. They wouldn't even need to own the game and
could use some pirated copy, a VAC banned account, anything really.

This "connect flood" in which steamid does not have even time to auth

The good thing in it is, that usually at some point attackers steamid is
revealed in the server log anyway. So once you ban that sucker's id, he

So it's affecting multiple engines as well, interesting.

It is 2 fort server, and the map doesn't change when time reaches 0:00.
It goes overtime forever until the round is actually over,
so people have to get the intel for the round to end and the map changes.
Basically, unless if no one captures the flag to finish the round (3 times
on our server)
