I don't know if the problem I am having is with texlive or Guix.
How do I use my own (xe)latex class with the guix texlive? Why does
using a private texmf.cnf to specify the path to my class not work?
Does anyone have a setup that works or any suggestions what else can be
tried?

I have bits of an xdm package somewhere in my vault/archive of
"packages to send to guix once I find time to contribute again".
What makes it more complicated / time consuming with xdm is that
you need to figure out the service for it.

Thank you for your input. You express more or less what I tried to
word. The keypoint is: build the Docker image with Guix because we
have a fine grain on the state and then use all the Docker machinery
because the world is as it is. :-)
Note that "guix pack -f docker" is one solution to cre
just to have an update on this thread:
it seems that database in new version of cuirass wasn't compatible with
previous versions. so after I removed previous database and let the service to
re-create it, this issue was resoled.
