I don't know what is the issue exactly, but from the QEMU documentation I can see that, in order for it to grab or release mouse and keyboard, one has to press Ctrl + Alt. Lastly, strangely enough, I as a non-tech user understand QEMU as a VM. But of course, no non-tech user's opinion replaces the
