I think the standard advice is to submit a patch to update the version
of xonsh, then use profiles to run the version desired.

Looks like the kernel already has support for them and freedesktop has
developed a daemon for it:

But doesn't look like it's packaged for Guix. Is it?

after replacing the default shell with `zsh`, I lost the tab completion
feature for Guix commands. do I need to perform any specific configuration
to enable this feature?
