Yes. Running OpenVPN requires root privilege.

I've attempted to install all relevant packages in Guix, and tried to
check on IRC to no avail. What I'm trying to do is to get a .ovpn file
configured via gnome, but looking around most suggest installing a
package named network-manager-openvpn-gnome which doesn't yet exist in
Guix repos.

Conkeror development has been abandoned and won't receive updates
anymore. This is a real concern security-wise which is why Guix dropped it.

start, it's not installed anymore.
“guix package -i conkeror” tells me:
guix package: package 'conkeror' has been superseded by 'icecat'
Why? These are two very different browsers.
