Hi,
Out of curiosity, when is am_policy_hub class suppose to be set?
Did some testing and it's somehow set only _after_ the common b

Use this instead:
bundle agent example
{
commands:
"/bin/ls /var/log/tomcat/*.gz"
contain => inshell;
}
body contain inshell
{
useshel
Commands are, by default, not executed in full a shell. If you contain
the command in a shell I would expect globbing to work.

Is there a way to tell cfengine not to start if there is no networking up
without hacking startup script?

It does not hang, but it tries to resolve IP address into DNS name (or
vica versa). Just ensure that your machine has a proper entry in
