What compiler and version?
I have built 3.1.2 on ia64 on both HP-UX 11i v2 and 11i v3 with the HP C/aC++

Forgot to mention this is on 11.31 Sept 2009 patch release. I did use gcc for
the compiles, it seemed to compile with less warning
