My two cents, an example for debian...
if listed service-s (ssh, ntp, etc) are not running, start them
vars:
debian::

go use other hard class like debian and don't try to use any in
reports ). It's Mark's way to implement the "The compiler won't let
you shoot yourself in the foot" pragma.

It is still parser bug, because cf-agent reports the error

Along the same lines, how should rebuilding a host be handled now? The cfengine
key for the host will change, but as far as I can tell there is no easy

This is a matter for policy, of course. One could simply revoke keys by
deleting keys older than a certain date, forcing them to be re-exchanged.
