The Linux segfault seems to be related to RHEL5.5. Other Linux installs seem
to work. Solaris SPARC is also working alth

For further verification did you try running cf-promises -x? I did and it
segfaulted.
I think mine is in good condition.
Looks like an error in name config. Order error in nsswitch.conf? I've seen
that before.
The segfault is in the C lib not cfengine.

Ryan, I gave this a try on RHEL5, 64bit but no success.

To save others the time I spent getting statically-linked cfengine 3 binaries
on Solaris & Linux, I'm putting my instructions here. I did this against
cfengine 3.0.4. On Solaris, I used sunfreeware.com packages for dependencies.
Doing this, I was able to compile binaries once on RHEL 3 i386, and
