I started cf-serverd with gdb and waited for it to fail and got a backtrace:

It would be a good idea to run in gdb, obtain a backtrace and submit to a bug
report.

I had a similar problem when testing with static binaries. The trouble was
limited to one host that had a lot of third party software installed.
