I figured out the proper approach to the floating point issues with HUGE_VALL
and nanl() - GCC has builtins for them, so in tctdb

Oops, my HUGE_VALL note above isn't correct - it's not defined on HP-UX 11.11,
but it's supposed to be a different value than HUG
