I don't see enough to pinpoint an error. I am not a developer though. You
might try the following to acquire more information.

just to be clear it has replace the /opt directory making it a file with
contents of shadow file!

I hit with the same bug today and it has caused big havocCFEngine copied
shadow file over to a completely irrelevant directory /op

The only logged error from cf-serverd near the time of the transfer error is

Please check the system logs on the policy host during the client errors. Did
cf-serverd log anything? Do you have SAR ru

Exit status is actually something I realized I forgot to check while writing my
