The hdfs build has failed
(https://builds.apache.org/job/Hadoop-Hdfs-trunk) for a month now due
to this change (MR-3868). I've reverted it.

Fyi the build has been failing for weeks due to the raid test failing
(HDFS-3648). This (MR-3868) also introduced a bunch of findbugs that
haven't been addressed HDFS-3563. If these aren't addressed soon I plan to
revert that change.
