- Verified md5/SHA checksums
- Installed binary distribution on Centos 6.4
- Ran a few MapReduce jobs on a single-node cluster
- Copied files to/from the cluster using HDFS commands
No issues encountered.

Ran through my usual check-list.
- Signatures and message digests all good.
- The top level full LICENSE, NOTICE and README files look fine.
- CHANGES.txt for common, hdfs, yarn and mapped are located as in before
releases.
- Able to build the tars out of the source tar ball.
Testing: Built

Downloaded the release, built from tarball, tested a single node cluster.
Everything worked as expected.

Built the source files, tried Hadoop-1 examples on it, ran some MR jobs
while RM restarted on a single-node cluster and checked JHS.

I have deployed a multinode cluster and extensively tested MR speculative
execution, YARN CLI and YARN distributed shell. There were couple of issues I
encountered while testing MAPREDUCE-5533, YARN-1168, YARN-1167, YARN-1157,
YARN-1131, YARN-1118, YARN-1117 and all of them
