Hi everyone,
My name is Laura and I am applying for the outreachy program.
I have already introduced myself in the IRC channel, but I am also
doing so here.

Sorry if I was absent for the weekend. I have been celebrating the good
news, filling Outreachy documentation, and so on - in fact I had planned to
be out of town because today is a national holiday but I stayed in BA in
the end.
Also, before the internship starts, there are some TODOs
BTW I forgot mentioning that I have read Gabor's mail about the videos, so
of course I am completely open to suggestions about what you believe is
better for Guix :)

Great! I am open to new suggestions based on what is better for the
project, as I mentioned before.

Hi everyone! :)
I'm going back to all the previous emails, and the graph, and write down a
summary in this thread, so that it does not end up messy, and we can
discuss it here. Probably, I will be asking questions also about the graph,
and also writing what we were thinking about the tools that wo
Hi again!
I went through past emails and this new ones.
In a previous mail, Bjorn suggested using the wiki -
https://libreplanet.org/wiki/Group:Guix - for my proposed timeline and the
decisions about the videos. Is it that possible? WDYT?
Some of you also mentioned the hosting ideas, I added tha

Concerning the graph, I'm also struggling with it ;-)

Oh, thank you :) I though I was writing too much for help. And sometimes I
get a little bit discouraged by the timezone, we have around 4 hs

Is it OK if I add the discussion about videos to be created, even they
don't match exactly my proposed timeline? My timeline is also cha
Hi everyone :)
I have some questions as regards documentation:
Yesterday I mentioned that I installed GuixSD on bare metal over IRC
channel, in my retroPC that in December this year will be 13 years old
:)
I did a basic installation, almost followed the first example in:

It's not its birthday yet, but thank you ;) I just did a basic
installation, since it only has 1GB of RAM memory. But I love it and

Hi!!
Today is my first day :) :) :)
just wanted to ask you a few things.
Is it OK if I start working about 9AM every day? (that would be 12 PM UTC)
I try to adapt my day so that it is not that late to write for you - I
was going to ask this in my yesterday, but then I realized it was like

Yes, and I have IRC channel too, just in case I need help.

Thank you a lot Gabor :)
Yesterday I did not see that time went by and had to go out and rush
without mentioning it on IRC channel and felt ashamed of that, because
everyone was helping me.
But when I arrived back, I copied the conversation in a text file to
read it in detail today.
I guess that
Hi!
I am opening this thread again to mention some few things.
I had to add one last line to the qemu command:

-nodefaults \

yes, I knew about the I/O operations stuff, I turned my fancy retroPC
on just to check, it is not a laptop, it is a desktop PC. It is has a

not say it is fancy anymore, I have just written a post for my blog

Hi guix!
I am writing a quick mail to tell you about the status of the videos.
I have been trying Ricardo's proposed tools that are in the
libreplanet site, and have created videos with audio and slides first
in English, and then translated previous slides from a presentation
adding to them only t

Hi!
I have been playing with aegisub today and I would like to share my
experience with that tool, your ideas about how video subtitles should
be included, and your advice too.
I installed aegisub from guix, and when I open it, it has a GUI. There
you load your video, in my case I loaded the fina
