If you installing from source then you will have a mutiple library GTK+
version, depends on how you configure the builds. Does your system has already
GTK+ development files shipped or installed from the Fedora 9 repository?, i
guess you are compiling the helloworld example in the 2.1

I am new to GTK. I have downloaded the GTK ver 2.16.6 and compiled it
in FC9. While running helloworld (sample from gtk.org) I am getting
