update-grub or
grub-mkconfig.
Therefore, there is no neccisessity to place scripts into /etc/grub.d/
just to have GRUB include fonts.

Hi, as demonstrated by the attatched screenshots, the following key
undesireble behaviour is beeing displayed by gfxmenu in GRUB 1.99:
* No icons are beeing printed for Ubuntu (probobly all Operating Systems)
* The selected pixmap is beeing drawn at a larger scale than the Boot Menu.
* The boxes w
I don't think so, but it can convert ttf into supported font formats but I

Hi,
In looking at making a default theme and example theme for grub 1.99 or 2.0
u discovered that grub doesn't load fonts called be the theme file
automatically, and a script in grub.d must do this.
Is this still the case and can it be fixed if so?
TIA
or is the theme just outdated?
Thanks - oh and as far as licencing, just GPL it, or are other
licences more applicable for artwork?

I was looking atthe GRUB Manual (1.99) trying to work out how to install a
theme, and I noticed in the first section of chapter 6 a

I have decided to fork Colin D. Bennett's unmaintained manual on creating
themes for Grub2's gfxmenu module. it is available to view and edit via Google
Docs here. I highly recommend merging this into the Grub2 manual. I have also
added a link on the Wiki FrontPage. "GRUB 2 gfxmenu Theming Manua
y don't we just ad a scroll bar, like on the menu?
ie. you use the up/down keys to hilite a line, when you hilite the prompt
you can enter commands, the scrollbar tells you ware you are on the page.
This is another instance ware mouse support would be useful: you could use
the scrollbar directly
will all these fonts be included in the next release of GRUB 2?

when will GRUB 2 be released as stable edition, and will there be an
installer?
a good idea for an installer would be a live-CD with a text based installer
- ubuntu's alternate installer has a good example of a text-based installer
