A commit named 'man pages: Add "\&" after abbreviations periods' from
Sunday the 17th June 2018 repeats some fixes that have already been
reported and a patch provided in the bug #51328 (file #41057) from 27th
June 2017.
Similar fixes with a patch are in the bug report #51312 from 25th
