invalid packet

I tried to decrypt a file today and got: gpg: [don't know]: invalid packet (ctb=14) A search on the internet has no led to anything.does anyone know what the problem could be ? gpg (GnuPG) 1.2.6 Copyright (C) 2004 Free Software Foundation, Inc. This program comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY.
