I've started using GnuCash recently. I like the program, and would like
to use it in my small business.
I have not found how to save a vendor's address so it prints on a check
without first creating a bill and then "paying" that bill. That does

Populating the list from a separate table would be a splendid idea,
especially if the table could include the payee addresses so the
address could print on the check without typing it in each time.

I upgraded to GnuCash 5.6+(2024-03-30), and since then the checks that
I have printed print with the amount in words as ***zero Thousand and
xx/100***. The cents are correct, but the dollars always print as "zero
Thousand."

Yes, you can edit the check layout. The location of the file to edit
depends on the operating system you have. On my Windows installation it
is at C:\Program Files (x86)\gnucash\share\gnucash\checks.
You can find instructions how to edit the coordinates of the objects
Are you using one of the preset check formats, or a customized check form?
If it's one of the preset formats, which one?

Instead of closing the individual windows by clicking on the red X up
in the right corner, click on File>Quit, if you are using Windows. That
will preserve the customizations you have made to the windows, and will
reopen them when you run GnuCash again.

Tutorial and Concepts Guide. On gnucash.org, click on Documentation,
then The Tutorial and Concepts Guide. Appendix B describes how to
create a check form.
