About 2 weeks ago I did a complete update of my Opensuse Tumbleweed
system, which included an update of Gnucash. I am now on v. 5.6, up from
4.14. My reports and cheque forms seem to have been deleted. What
happened and can (where) can I put them back in from a back-up with this
new versi
I guess I haven't been paying attention. I don't close GnuCash completely
very often. I am running release 5.8+ in windows 10 and I just noticed
that the splash screen is not appearing when I re-start GnuCash. The
setting is still set to show it. Has anyone else noticed this?

Running 5.8+ in windows 11 Pro -- splash screen does show. On my machine is it
quick to open and splash screen shows and goes away quickly. Maybe yours is
showing and them disappearing. Mine is there for less than a second.

It goes away by itself? I thought I had to close it. OK, in release 4.8
it appears "instantly" and lingers for a minute or so before the main
window finally appears. I forgot about that difference.

I have 4.14 in Windows 10 and 11. The splash screen appears, the
progress bar for opening the last previously used file fills in from
left to right, and when that's done the splash screen disappears. The
whole thing takes about two seconds. I suspect that different times of
seeing the splash screen
