I certainly have been updating my records since then.

Well, the spirit is willing, but as a practical matter I think it would
be better if someone more familiar with the website(s) did it. I've
never succeeded in forming a mental map of how the website(s) are
structured.

Hello Jin and all friends
Thanks for your kind help and suggestion in running command prompt.
GnuCash was installed in F drive and I forgot that, so the error message
was coming,
I ran the command prompt, and it threw the result for RELIANCE, FOR
EXAMPLE, as below. So the Finance quote works
Thank you for that. However, a file search for any file of that
structure only delivers 1 dated 18.02.2022, which I have mentioned in an
earlier post is the date on my 'currently loaded' file which won't save.
There are a number of files with .GCM and number with LCK dated 2021,
others with .l
What is the complete path/filename for the files?

You probably haven't lost work, at least not before the last successful

First, for attachment images, they need to be 'as attachment' and *not*
inline.
That is, in your e-mail app, attach the screenshot. Do not just paste it
into the message mixed in with the text.
You may also have a setting in your e-mail app for this to toggle
between 'inline' and 'attachment

In my earlier email I suggested that you tell us the complete path/filename
for those files. Windows likes to foreshorten them in some cases,
especially if there are external drives involved. I should have said
complete unqualified path/filename in case the path names have been
shortened to stay
Paras,
How have you set up the security editor entry for RELIANCE in your gnucash
file. I have set it up in my file as follows and it returns the same price
details as gnucash-cli without error.

At one point you advised you had GnuCash files in:

now, you are saying it is:
C:\users\administrato\documents
These are 2 separate locations and two separate 'users' on this machine.
Where do you *think* your GnuCash file is sup

Yeah, I'm suspecting the "can't write to file" message is when trying to
save the file back to its original location which is under a different
user than the one who's desktop is front and center at that moment.
But we'll need that error message screenshot to confirm.
And then there is the obv

A tip I've often used on Windows... the "tab" key does file expansion.
So, if I'm at C:\ in Windows, I can type "Prog" followed by the tab key,
and it will expand to "Program Files", with the quotes needed. (If it
brings up the wrong directory, such as "Program Data", continued presses of
