Yes, sorry, my first message got held for moderation because it was
sent from a different email address than the one I subscribed as, so I
resent it from the "correct" email address, but forgot to cancel the
first held up post.

When I do a search, the transaction 'Notes' line does not
seem to appear under the search results tab.
Is there a way to see and/or edit the Notes item in search?
TIA!

When I import an OFX file it lists the transactions in red buut when I check
the U/C box it shows the matching transaction in GNUCash. However, it puts
this message in the notes field:
OFX ext. info: |Trans type:Generic debit|Standard Industrial Code:5310|This

#3181$7
Thank you. The ledger options are grayed out, I thought the
double-line item was grayed out too. Glad to see I was wrong.

I have encountered what appears to be buggy behavior when entering the
Transfer account for a transaction. If I make a typing error so that no
existing account matches, the Transfer cell does not allow editing, i.e.,
backspace doesn't work, arrows don't work, the cursor position can be

Hi Dale,
Nope, works as expected on Ubuntu 21.10 using the latest 4.8 flatpak
version and also on macOS. Haven't noticed anything amiss on Win7, Win10
either. If I enter an invalid account I can still backspace, click the
down arrow, use Escape, etc.

existing transaction and thta existing transaction will be updated with
information from the transaction in the OFX file. If the R o
As I recall, this issue was reported a good while back on a
GnuCash version. I don't recall the version or the OS it was on. Or
something similar, where a text field couldn't be edited, and cursor
couldn't be manipulated. I forgot what the solution was. It seems like
the work around was to pla

That bug was resolved in 4.6, but your problem sounds suspiciously similar...

It is possible that at least part of the note was actually a part of the
imported transaction text. To be sure, use a text editor to examine the
OFX file.
I have seen similar notes when the financial institution's software does
not seem to provide some details that GnuCash wants to see. I have n
